Breakfast is served at an agreed time each morning, allowing us to prepare everything freshly for you — a generous continental table, and something cooked to order.

The idea

A country breakfast, cooked to order.

Everything is cooked to order, so we agree a breakfast time with you the evening before. What follows are examples of what may be offered; the table changes a little with the seasons.

The continental table

Fresh juice, warm croissants and a slow start.

A typical continental table might include fresh orange or apple juice, salami and smoked salmon, Emmenthal, a warm croissant from the oven, fresh fruit, yoghurt with honey or homemade compote, and a small selection of cereals, including cornflakes, Rice Krispies, Coco Pops, honey-nut cereal and porridge.

Something cooked

A proper hot breakfast, cooked to order.

Cooked dishes are prepared to order, and might include a full English with eggs your way; American-style pancakes with smoked streaky bacon, blueberries and maple syrup; Eggs Benedict or Royale; or dippy eggs and soldiers if that's the sort of morning it is.

What may be on the table

A few things worth knowing.

  • Breakfast meat is supplied by Sumbler's of Marlborough and reared at Sandridge Farm.
  • Eggs, cooked the way you like them.
  • Croissants and pastries, warm from the oven.
  • Fresh orange and apple juice.
  • Fruit, yoghurt, honey and compote.
  • Coffee and tea, topped up while you sit.
